The 13th/18th Royal Hussars fought during the Battle of France as a reconnaissance unit, having been reformed and then later equipped with Sherman tanks, it took part in the D-Day Landings.

A and B Squadrons were equipped with Sherman DD tanks which mainly swam ashore from LCTs (Landing Craft Tank), whereas C Squadron with their wading Shermans landing from LCTs directly onto the beach.

For my Sword landing I’ll be representing all three squadrons, and have made a start on A squadron with a pair of 20mm Britannia swimming Sherman DDs. Let’s see if I can get them finished this week!
