SWORD 80: D – 5

Well here we are, into the last few days until the D-day 80 commemorations, and my Sword 80 wargame.

I haven’t posted recently as real life rightly took precedence, but I have a raft of posts ranging from British Landing Craft paint scheme to sprucing up MDF buildings almost ready to go.

Plus I’ve been busy beavering away on the odd evening putting the last few bits together for Sword 80. Unless I’m about to experience a planning mistake of epic proportions, here are the last WIP elements:

Sixth and final British infantry unit, the Suffolks. All AB Figures and quite a bit of work
left on these.
Beach AA defence in the form of a pair of Crusaders by Early War Miniatures.
I really do need to bite the bullet and affix the decals to these RMASB Centaurs…

All the buildings, bunkers, beach defences and landing craft are finished. The Scenario pack has been completed, and I’ll be setting up the boards tomorrow.

Fifty figures, a pair of tanks to paint, and a pair of tanks to do the decals on. In a couple of evenings. I can do this!

I was just wondering how things were going last night, so a well-timed post (for me anyway)! I really like those Centaurs! Here’s hoping all goes well! 🙂

Hi John, thanks! The Centaurs are PSC kits with some parts off the Airfix Cromwell sets. They are quite striking in brown!

    Nearly there!
The tanks look good, I assume the decals are the angle markings round the turrets?
Good luck for the game, looking forward to reading about it.

Yes they are the ones. They’ll need plenty of micro sol and set to make them sit over the rivets.
