WATERLOO 1815 CAMPAIGN: Hanoverians, Part 3

Some good progress over the Bank Holiday weekend, much learned too! I should now have the first pair of Hanoverian battalions, in this case Landwehr, finished next weekend.

These are Fizzer Johnson’s Men of Metal 18mm British Infantry. I’ve made a slight modification to the fatigue hats in that I’ve snipped off the pom pom from the top to make them look more like Landwehr caps. While there should be a peak on them I don’t think it’ll be too noticeable one the full units are done.

I’m not sure there is any definitive proof that the Hanoverians wore the caps for the 100 days campaign, but mixed in with Stovepipe shakos at a ratio of about 1:4 it’ll make the Hanoverians stand out a little from the British infantry.

I’m using contrast paints as the base coat, and will highlight using normal acrylics. For a change I’ve used a 50:50 wash of Nuln Oil:Lehman Medium before the basecoats – it’s helping me to see what to paint on these smaller figures while not being too dark.

Seems to be working so far..!
